INSIDE APT – Accounting, Projects, Tax.

Keeping the Tax Man at bay!

At APT we ‘stick to the knitting’. It just so happens that our knitting is having a knowledge and understanding of Alan Pink’s structures. It is a niche sector that we have become specialists in. Our aim is to be your ‘professional minder’ when it comes to your tax and accounting affairs!

However there are times when an HMRC enquiry will be unavoidable. This can be a cause of anguish and stress for business owners. We are happy to take this pain away from you but going ‘toe to toe’ with the Inspector can be expensive and time consuming. Almost every enquiry requires us to formulate a strategy by which to negotiate with the Inspector an outcome that will be in your favour.

Our advice is to adopt a strategy of prevention; rather than looking for a subsequent cure.

There are many tricks and tips you can adopt and our senior Tax Director Sarah Whyte explores some of these in this issue of APT News. In future editions Sarah will uncover ways of maintaining your structure and minimising the chance of you being another notch in HMRC’s belt!

In the mean time we recommend that all our clients take out our Tax Investigation Service.

This is a scheme by which APT are insured for any fees incurred in dealing with HMRC enquires received by clients who are members of the scheme. It is still possible to join our Tax Investigation Service at a pro-rated fee for the remainder of the current policy year which runs until 30 June 2012.
